Giraffe Weevil Labradorite & Moonstone Pendant • Electroformed Copper Insect Necklace • One of a Kind

This piece features a sculptural giraffe weevil, recognizable by its dramatically elongated neck and beetle-like body, suspended within an open copper frame. A flashing moonstone sits above, while a large teardrop labradorite hangs below with flashes of blue, green, and gold.

The entire piece has been electroformed in copper and finished with a dark patina, preserving all of the strange little details and giving it the feeling of an artifact pulled from an old natural history collection.

Giraffe weevils are named for their unusually long necks — an adaptation especially exaggerated in males. I love them precisely because they look slightly impossible, like something nature designed without worrying whether anyone would believe it was real.
